Birmingham, AL — White Arnold & Dowd P.C. is pleased to announce that James A. Potts, II has joined the firm as a shareholder. Mr. Potts has tried 40 jury trials in both state and federal court. In over 90% of these cases, Mr. Potts was able to obtain a verdict for the defendant or keep the verdict below the plaintiff’s last settlement demand. In 2010 and 2012, Mr. Potts was recognized as one of the most prolific trial lawyers in Alabama by the Alabama Jury Verdict Reporter.
Mr. Potts was born in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1999, he graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. While at Auburn, Mr. Potts was a member of the Economics Club, where he tutored and mentored students in economics courses. Following graduation from Auburn, Mr. Potts attended the University of Alabama School of Law, where he excelled in trial advocacy and earned his Juris Doctorate in 2003.
Since graduating from the University of Alabama, Mr. Potts has worked in the field of general insurance defense. He has handled a variety of matters within the field, including automobile liability, tractor trailer litigation, premises liability, real estate contract disputes, construction litigation, insurance coverage disputes, employment litigation, products liability and wrongful death lawsuits. Mr. Potts has previously been employed in the litigation department of a national casualty underwriter.
