J. Mark White Named Recipient of the Alabama State Bar William D. “Bill” Scruggs, Jr. Service to the Bar Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Birmingham, AL – White Arnold & Dowd P.C. is pleased to announce that founding shareholder J. Mark White has been named this year’s recipient of the Alabama State Bar William D. “Bill” Scruggs, Jr. Service to the Bar Award.  White received the award during the Grand Convocation Ceremony at the 2019 Alabama State Bar Annual Meeting in Point Clear, Alabama.   Established in 2002, the Bill Scruggs Service to the Bar Award honors the memory of and accomplishments on behalf of the Bar of former Alabama State Bar President Bill Scruggs.  The award is given to members of the Alabama State Bar who have made significant contributions and exemplify outstanding, long-term service to the Bar.  White’s personal contributions to the legal profession include serving as President of the Birmingham Bar Association, President of the Alabama State Bar, and most recently as President of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.  Managing Lawyer Augusta S. Dowd commented, “Like Bill Scruggs during his own legal career, Mark is deeply devoted to serving other attorneys.  He personifies service to the Bar, its members, and our profession.  We are proud of our partner and friend, and believe he is well deserving of this high honor.”
