Birmingham, AL – White Arnold & Dowd P.C. is pleased to announce that shareholder and management committee member Karen M. Hennecy and associate C. Burton Dunn have been appointed to the Elder Law Services Committee of the Birmingham Bar Association for 2014. Ms. Hennecy will also serve as the secretary of the Committee. The BBA’s Elder Law Services Committee examines developments in elder law, and develops legal-related programs to provide help and assistance to the elderly. “We are proud of both Karen and Burton’s appointments to this Committee,” said Sidney C. Summey, head of the Probate Department at White Arnold & Dowd. “Karen and Burton have the specialized skill set and knowledge to be a true asset to this Committee, and their energy and enthusiasm will be essential to the Committee’s success.”
Ms. Hennecy concentrates her practice on the administration of the estates of decedents and protected persons, elder law issues, assisting clients and their families with matters including advance directives, durable powers of attorney, wills, trusts, asset preservation and Medicaid planning. She holds a J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, and also has a B.A. in Graphic Design from Samford University. Mr. Dunn is a member of the probate practice group, working with clients on matters involving Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans’ Affairs, estate and trust matters, and guardianships/conservatorships. He is a graduate of the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, and holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
